Children's Book Review: God Gave Us You by Lisa T. Bergren

God Gave Us You

I love it when I find a book to share with my son that perfectly expresses my feelings.  God Gave Us You by Lisa Tawn Bergren (illustrated by Laura J. Bryant) does just that!

Hubby and I read a board book edition of God Gave Us You to L at bedtime last night.  He is just six months old and may not truly grasp all the words we say when we read - but he is absolutely fascinated by the pictures.  And, well, he also likes to grab books out of my hands to chew on them.  :)

God Gave Us You is a sweet story about a little girl polar bear who has a conversation with her mama about where she came from.  Mama explains that she and Papa Bear prayed for a cub and were so excited when God gave them a very, very special cub who was just perfect for their family!

This book contains a great message for little ones who want to be reassured that yes, they are loved - and yes, they were desperately wanted!  And of course, that God loves them very much, too.  As a new mommy, I definitely feel this way about my little one, and I am excited to be able to share this story - which puts all of those feelings into words - with L as he grows older.

You can find God Gave Us You in regular storybook form or board book on Amazon.  Plus check out other titles in this collection - including God Gave Us Two (great for families with twins)!

Please rate my review!
