Learn About Other Cultures with "Happy Valley" - Volume 1 DVD - Review + Giveaway

Is there a preschooler in your house?  You might want to be on the lookout for one of the newest releases from Organa Kids: Happy Valley

Happy Valley is a series of animated stories, and will be available on DVD on August 30.  This charming little series features characters and stories set in a beautiful English countryside.  Each of the nine episodes contained in Volume 1feature nursery rhymes and songs - some traditional and some contemporary.

I thoroughly enjoyed this collection.  I think it is great for children to be able to experience other cultures, and Happy Valley provides a simple way for kids to learn about day-to-day life in England - all from home, no passport required.  I had never heard a lot of the nursery rhymes featured in these stories and have to assume that some of them are classic English nursery rhymes!  Every time the characters spoke of "lollies" or "nursery school," I had to smile.  Such fun!

Organa Kids was established in 1995 with the mission of introducing American families to stories, characters and cultures from around the world through multicultural stories with universal themes. Inspiring kids to have an awareness of the world as a whole (while being delightfully entertained), Organa Kids is creating products that balance technology and real-world experiences. The company most recently released “Scavenger Traveler” app for the iPhone whereby kids of any age can explore their environment traveling or on vacation.

  13. The song that they will not stop singing is Old MacDonald Had A Farm. They won't even let me get creative with it and have aardvarks or dinosaurs on the farm. It must be sung with only specific animals, and in a specific order.
    I hate that song.
