The VeggieTales characters are fun-loving vegetables that sing catchy tunes and teach kids important lessons. In addition to their many videos, the VeggieTales now include I Can Read books. I Can Read books are designed to help kids learn to read at certain levels. These VeggieTales books are Level 1: Simple sentences for eager new readers.
These four new adventures are: The Fairest Town in the West, Bob and Larry's Creation Vacation, Bob and Larry in The Case of the Missing Patience, and Junior Battles to Be His Best. My favorite of this new series would be The Case of the Missing Patience (I just can't resist a good mystery). Bob and Larry are trying to teach some new recruits to be great detectives, but it seems that they just keep getting in the way while Bob and Larry chase down leads. They have to learn that they need to have patience with the new recruits in order to teach them to be detectives. The story ends with Proverbs 19:11 'A person's wisdom yields patience; it is to one's glory to overlook an offense.'
Bringing such well-loved characters as those in VeggieTales to the I Can Read series is so much fun! Kids who are learning to read are always more inclined to give it a try when they can read stories about their favorite characters. This collection of books is delightful and will be read for many years in our family!
