Children's Book Review: 100 Devotions, 100 Bible Songs

"100 Devotionals, 100 Bible Songs is the first devotionl book for kids that uses classic Bible songs as a basis for daily devotions." In the opening note to parents, it explains that every hymns and Bible songs are basically just "little devotionals" that are set to music. This book just takes 100 new and classic songs and creates devotionals based on them. Each devotional includes an easy-to-read application, with a related Bible verse and a prayer. Stephen Elkins, grammy-nominated producer, put this book together with illustrations by Tim O'Connor.

This sweet collection features the beloved hymn "I Have Decided to Follow Jesus." The application story considers the USPS motto: "Neither snow, nor rain, nor gloom of night keeps me from my appointed rounds." If the postal service has that much commitment to their job, then Christians should be even more committed to Jesus. The verse listed is Joshua 24:15 "Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve." Whether you use this book for daily devotionals with your children, or just sing all of the fun songs, this is a great volume to own.
