I'm a Kansas City girl - I've been here my whole life. You know what's kind of sad? There are a lot of famous BBQ restaurants that I have not yet visited. I'm making a list. I will try them all.
Here's one way I've been able to experience classic KC BBQ that is much friendlier on my budget - with KC Masterpiece sauces and marinades!
The latest sauce release is KC Masterpiece: Southern Style. It has a hint of cider vinegar and a pinches of red and black pepper - giving it a nice little kick! I'm not much for spicy and usually stick to a basic (sweeter) flavor, but this sauce is pretty tasty!
We mixed up this Southern Style sauce with some of our yummy chicken from Zaycon in our crock pot one night. Can I just say... I love my crockpot. Drop in the chicken and the sauce, flip on the heat, and bingo - several hours later I have a piping hot meal just ready and waiting. Combined with the macaroni and cheese I got with my free product coupon from the Stouffer's giveaway (no longer available), this was a super easy meal to prepare.
And it was delicious! I do have to admit that the flavor was just a little bit zesty for me. But this was definitely a hit - and a meal I plan to repeat often.
There's another new release from KC Masterpiece: Buffalo Marinade! This is definitely one that my hubby appreciates more than I, as it is spiced wtih red peppers, garlic, and paprika. Whew! We eat a lot of chicken around here, and this has added a great new flavor to our routine.
All in all - two delicious new tastes from KC Masterpiece. I highly recommend you try them out - especially if you're a local reader. We are in Kansas City after all - and KC Masterpiece was founded right here at home! :)
