{Book Review} Love on the Line by Deeanne Gist

"It's a Battle of Wills ... and Love Is on the Line" is the tagline of Deeanne Gist's latest novel, Love on the Line. The intriguing tale follows Georgie Gail, a switchboard operator in rural Texas. Georgie has made her way in the world of men and has proved herself capable... until a man is put in place by the telephone company to watch over her. Luke Palmer is a striking man, but this telephone salesman/repairman has a secret of his own. He is an undercover Texas Ranger trying to penetrate a train robbing gang. Unfortunately for Luke, Georgie gets put in peril due to the job and Luke realizes that more than just his job is "on the line."

Deeanne has done it again. This book - Love on the Line - is an exciting and fun read. I was fascinated by mulitple aspects of this book - the Texas Rangers, train robbers and old-time telephones. It was so much fun to follow the storyline of the main couple - Luke and Georgie - wondering if they would end up together (I won't be providing spoilers though - so no worries). This has been one of my favorite books by Deeanne Gist in recent times (my other favorites include A Bride Most Begrudging and The Measure of a Lady). Deeanne Gist has earned three RITA nominations, two consecutive Christy Awards and many rave reviews. She has a very quickly growing (and very loyal) fan base - yes, that includes me!

Check out Love on the Line - my prediction is that you will thoroughly enjoy it!
