Children's Book Review: Night Night Blessings by Amy Parker

What It Is

Night Night Blessings is a sweet book that is perfect for bedtime. Written by Amy Parker and illustrated by Marijan Ramljak, this story is a child's prayer, thanking God "From the sunlight in my window to the glow of the moonlight." Night Night Blessings helps children learn to count their blessings and teaches them about how much God cares for them. This precious story will delight kids while encouraging them to be thankful.

My Take on Night Night Blessings

I love that I get to share sweet children's books with L.  He mostly enjoys chewing on books right now, but sometimes he is just fascinated by the pictures.  He was intrigued by this book!  The rhymes are cute, but the illustrations are what really drew me into the story. They are bright and colorful - and remind me both of watercolor painting and crayon drawing.  I think kids will appreciate these designs since they may recognize hints of their own paint or crayon artwork!  I also appreciate that the prayer includes things like leapfrog, kickball, and a big ol' bubble bath in addition to more "important" things such as family time, mommy's kisses and daddy's bedtime prayers. This is a cute little story and I know that our family will be turning to it again and again for our bedtime routine.

You can purchase Night Night Blessings on Amazon.  The board book edition is currently priced at $9.99, while the Kindle edition is $7.99.
