If you have little ones (especially boys), chances are that you could be familiar with Blok Squad buildable playsets. These toys, made by Mega Brands, give kids the chance to build and learn with everyday hero themes. Available in Fire, Police, Construction, Army, and Space, Blok Squad offers a wide variety of playsets for kids to select.
Mega Bloks Blok Squad are suitable for kids ages 5 and up. These blocks are very small, and are meant for kids who have mastered mini blocks and are ready for more details with micro blocks!
I was able to review the Mega Bloks Blok Squad Police Force Pursuit playset.
When you open the box, you'll find a few different things. One is a user's guide, which contains a list of the pieces you will need to use for each piece, plus step by step instructions for building. Hang onto this book! Unless you are a total genius, you will be totally lost without it.
You will also find a collection of small pieces in sealed plastic bags, and sticker sheets to add once you have finished building. The pieces in this set were divided somewhat by color, but not by vehicle. All of the pieces for all three vehicles are mixed together, so when you begin to build, you will likely have to take some time to separate and sort.
The box says that this set is aimed at ages 5 and up. It took my husband somewhere between 3-4 hours to put this set together, from the time we opened the box until they were completed. If you have an impatient kiddo, it might be a better idea to go ahead and pre-build it and surprise them with a finished set!
Overall, I was pleased with the quality of the toy and the clarity of the instructions. I think age 5 might be a little young for some kids to appreciate these toys, but I have no doubt that they will be greatly enjoyed once a child is ready for a big project like this one!
