My house is not super small - but also not super big. When you coupon, it's essential to find somewhere to keep your stockpile. While having an entire room or garage is probably not necessary, keeping a manageable stockpile still requires space.
For the last couple of years, most of my stockpile has been scattered throughout my house. I keep diapers in my garage. Kleenex and cereal in my coat closet. You get the idea. I finally decided that I was really, really tired of having nowhere to store my towels or sheets - since all my toiletries were in the linen closet. I went around my house searching for unused space. I found a nice, unsuspecting door in my laundry room and had my handy hubby install this 6-shelf over the door organizer that I found at Target.
It only took two trips to haul everything to the laundry room in a laundry basket. And now, my stockpile is divided by item (one shelf for hand soap, one shelf for shampoo, you get the idea...). I can easily see what I have on hand and decide if I need to take advantage of the next awesome sale. Best idea ever? Quite possibly.
I can't find this particular shelf on Target's web site, but there's a comparable version here at Amazon.
What's your best stockpile storage solution?

You know what I love about this? It is an over-the-door organizer that doesn't leave big ugly indentions in the top of a door frame like the pocket kind that have metal things (things being an incredibly technical term here ;)). I will take a more permanent kind that stays put any day, and while it leaves holes, will keep the door area looking nicer overall! Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Leah! This one is super heavy duty - it's great. I definitely prefer the holes in the door, ensuring stability, than the kind with metal things! I've only had it up for a couple of days and I love it! :)
