Science Is Cool

Find out what makes science cool at the Kansas City Zoo’s Family Science Night on Thursday, December 3. Bring the family and enjoy an evening of ed-zoo-cational activities that will prove once and for all, science really is cool!

Best of all, Family Science Night is perfect for children in Kindergarten through 12th grade and is packed with exciting hands-on activities and mind-bending experiments. prepare to be amazed when you stick a needle through a balloon without popping it, make an Alka-Seltzer rocket blast off, burn money without actually burning it, and become a human electrical circuit.

Family Science Night is complimentary and all junior scientists must have an adult with them.
No registration is required.

SANTA DIVES with PENGUINS
Get a one-of-a-kind photo of Santa underwater inside the Helzberg Penguin Plaza cold water exhibit as the penguins torpedo around him. Take a family photo will the Jolly Old Elf. 
This is one family memory you don't want to miss! 

Santa will be diving on December 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 & 20 at 11 am.

HOLIDAY WILD
There is also Holiday Wild on Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6 for festive activities that are sure to inspire your holiday spirit. From 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. the kids can write letters to Santa in the lobby and then meet the jolly ol' guy in person at the Helzberg Penguin Plaza. He will be joined by Mrs. Claus and one of his elves. Be sure to bring your camera to capture those candid moments with Santa. 

 Friends of the Zoo (FOTZ) members will enjoy an exclusive breakfast snack in the Polar Bear Passage and a special meet and greet with Santa in Helzberg Penguin Plaza on Saturday, December 5 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
