St. Patrick’s Day is one week from today, but don’t miss out on all of the fun leading up to it! There are parades and festivals going on this weekend throughout the Kansas City area. This Saturday, March 12th, there are the Snake Parade (Kansas City), the St. Patrick’s Warm Up Parade (Brookside), and the Emerald Isle St. Patrick’s Parade (Lee’s Summit). The Snake Parade actually is an all day festival from 10:00am to 3:00pm. On Sunday, March 13th, don’t miss out on the Irishpalooza Parade (Martin City, MO), with NBC 41’s Gary Lezak as the Grand Marshall! Irishpalooza also has events from 11:30am to 3:30pm. And of course on St. Patrick’s Day, Thursday, March 17th, is the ever-popular Kansas City Irish Parade. Also, in the Irish spirit, you might want to visit some of KC’s local Irish businesses: Sheehan’s Irish Imports, Doherty & Sullivan’s Irish Goods, Browne’s Irish Marketplace, the Irish Crystal Company, and the Irish Museum and Cultural Center.
