You may already be familiar with Club Penguin - but since my little guy isn't quite old enough to enjoy it, I stopped by their website (ClubPenguin.com), and here is what I learned! "Club Penguin is a snow-covered, virtual world where children play games and interact with friends in the guise of colourful penguin avatars." I read through some of their information for parents regarding kids' online safety and what is available on the site. It is a FREE site, though there are certain perks to having one of the paid memberships. They explain that having the paid memberships allows Club Penguin to remain free from third-party advertisements.
Club Penguin has grown to include merchandise including toys and games. The latest available merchandise is a set of Club Penguin USB Flash Drives! Enclosed within these cute, rubbery penguins is a 4 GB Flash drive that allows your child (or you) to save and carry around whatever information you want/need. Included on the flash drive are Club Penguin colorings sheets, desktop wallpapers, comic strips, and more!
I was sent a sample of Rockhopper, Cadence, and Gadget Gary. They are so much fun! If you are starting back-to-school shopping and your kids want their very own flash drive this year, these are a fantastic choice. Since they are so unique, there will be a much smaller chance of getting it mixed up with someone else's drive! Plus the storage capacity (4 GB) should easily hold whatever your little student decides to create.
