At almost four months old, my son L is starting to enjoy looking at picture books...and I couldn't be more thrilled. As a child, I had my nose constantly buried in a book. I am hoping that my little guy develops the same love of books. What a magical world they create!
One of the latest titles we have read is When God Created My Toes, a children's title written by Dandi Daley Mackall. This fun little title was released by WaterBrook Press in August 2008. The rhyming story follows a little girl as she wonders what God was thinking when he created her. Have you ever thought about it? When God created your toes - did he have to hold his nose? Such a phrase is sure to make your children giggle and make this story a fun one to share for bedtime smiles.
The book skips along as the little girl wonders what God was thinking about when creating not just her toes - but her knees, her hip, her hands, her nose, her eyes, and of course - her heart. The colorful illustrations by David Hohn are beautiful - interspersed with what we can only assume to be the heroine's own drawings. Overall, quite a cute story and one I'm sure we will read often in our family.
You can purchase When God Created My Toes from WaterBrook or from Amazon
