{Book Review} The House of Hope by Elisabeth Gifford

The House of Hope, written by journalist Elisabeth Gifford, is a touching true story.

Robin and Joyce Hill had a nice life together. They lived in China because of Robin's work, and when they were scheduled to leave China, they felt a sudden call from God on their lives. Things were never the same after thatcall. They moved from their non-Chinese community to a small apartment outside of Beijing. Once in their new home, they began to take in foster children - especially children who were terminally ill or had complicated medical problems. The Hills felt a special calling for these kids. Robin and Joyce Hill's story is stirring story that points to God's abounding love and grace.

The idea of orphans in the world is one that truly breaks my heart, and I am so glad to be able to read about people who are helping those who are in need. Robin and Joyce Hill have created a wonderful home for children. They have also been able to find others who are working hard to help people, such as Amy Eldridge and Steven Curtis Chapman (who wrote the forward for the book). I wish that every child in need could find their way to people like the Hills.

This book takes you along on a journey with Robin and Joyce as their story unfolds.  Many children are introduced in each new chapter - the Hills truly have had a remarkable opportunity to show God's love to these orphans.  The book also includes a nice section of color photos, which help bring the stories to life.
