{Book Review} Loving the Little Years: Motherhood in the Trenches by Rachel Jankovic

My little boy recently figured out that it is incredibly fun to unroll an entire roll of toilet paper while Mommy is blogging.  As you might guess, Mommy was less than thrilled!  Chances are, if you have a little one (and especially if you have more than one), you have felt many, many times like you are "in the trenches" - as though you may never escape the current phase!

Author Rachel Jankovic is a mom in the trenches herself.  With five kids aged 5 and under (at the time of publication, 2010), Jankovic has crafted a little book that will encourage other moms - and help remind them that these are days to treasure, as they truly won't last long!  Loving the Little Years: Motherhood in the Trenches is a little book that now holds a permanent place in my personal library.

Each chapter is a quick and easy read - most are not longer than 3-4 pages.  In "mom time," that seems to be the maximum free time available before someone needs a hug or a snack or a diaper change.  It is so nice to read about someone else's experiences, especially when they are from a Christian perspective.

This book doesn't offer a "magical fix" for anything - just some true experiences, some inspiring thoughts, and lots of practical advice.  I hope to share this book with friends and family for years to come.

You can purchase Loving the Little Years on Amazon for $9.30 (23% off).
