Book Review: Love You More by Jennifer Grant

Love You More: The Divine Surprise of Adopting My Daughter is a heartfelt look at one family's adoption story.  I think most everyone (myself included) knows someone who has adopted a child - or who was adopted themselves.  But unless you have close interaction with the family, you are unlikely to understand much about the adoption process.  I was so excited to have a first-hand glimpse at this story.

Author Jennifer Grant shares details about her family's own adoption story, in a writing style that is captivating.  This was one of those books that I didn't want to put down.

If you are considering adoption, I would definitely recommend this title.  As you read, you're taken along on the journey to bring home Mia, a girl from Guatemala.  The author is not afraid to tell her readers that everything about adoption is not always perfect - and that it is not for everyone.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.  I found it eye-opening and intriguing.  I am grateful that there are families willing to share their stories with others - hopefully we will all be inspired to do something, however great or small, to help the children who are in need in our world.

Love You More: The Divine Surprise of Adopting My Daughter is currently available on Amazon for $7.

  1. I loved this book as well. I think it's a great resource for anyone contemplating becoming a parent, whether via adoption or birth. The author has great insights on what it means to be intentional about family culture, but shares them with humor and humility--she's quick to admit she hasn't got it all figured out, but also to share the important questions she's pondering. A well-told, beautifully-written story of what it really means to be a family.
