It's Time to Rhyme with Mother Goose Club - DVD/CD Review

Is there anything more classic than a child singing a Mother Goose nursery rhyme?  I was delighted to discover Mother Goose Club, which was nominated for 14 Midsouth Emmy awards, and has been featured on PBS.  Shown in quick 1-minute segments, this educational program helps kids become ready to read, and enhances speech skills.  Each segment is fun and colorful and sure to captivate kid's attention!

I had the chance to check out the new DVD, Nursery Rhyme Singing Time with the Mother Goose Club, as well as two great CDs featuring the music from this program: Mother Goose Club Sings Nursery Rhymes Volume 1 & 2.
I had never seen any features from Mother Goose Club prior to watching this DVD, and I have to say that I found it to be so much fun!  Now that I'm a mommy, I want my kiddo to be able to experience all the "classic" childhood things I remember, and Mother Goose is one of them.  This updated look at Mother Goose's characters like Teddy Bear, Jack B. Nimble, Little Bo Peep, Baa Baa Sheep, and more is sure to draw in the next generation of young viewers!  Careful though, with all the fun rhyming going on in this DVD, you may end up with kids who are constantly thinking up new rhymes!  Overall this collection of stories, songs and finger plays is delightful and sure to be a big hit with your preschoolers.

I simply love the color scheme presented in this collection.  Bright hues of blue, yellow, pink, and purple are found everywhere (even in the characters clothes/hair) - such fun.  L is not really interested in watching TV yet, but he and I have had quite the time dancing around the room to the fun tunes these colorful characters sing!

The two CDs have quickly become favorites, too.  Most of the songs are just under a minute long, which make them great for little listeners with short attention spans.  I am confident that Mother Goose will live on for years and years to come, as kids will be memorizing her popular rhymes with this collection!  You can preview the tracks on Volume 1 here at Amazon.

As if all this isn't enough - I was also sent a delightful coloring book!  I think L is going to love it once he is old enough to be trusted with crayons.  :)
