Cousins Jamboree CD by Hope Harris Review + Giveaway

Hope Harris, a celebrated children's musical artist, has released her second album, Cousins Jamboree. Unlike her first album, Julie the Starfish and Other Lullabies, the Jamboree is an up-tempo and energetic musical adventure. A local of Richmond, VA, Hope travels regionally (so if you or any of your friends are in that area, go see her - I'm sure she puts on a fun show!).

Something I found really fun and unique about this album is that during the first track, "Howdy, Hello," Hope introduces not only herself, but her band as well!  I think this is a special touch as it makes the whole listening experience seem more like a live performance.  Kids are sure to be excited and feel that Hope is singing directly to them, since she takes the opportunity for an intro.  Love it!

Cousins Jamboree has a variety of musical styles to keep kids entertained on road trips or a rainy afternoon. Hope sings in swing, country, jazz, 50's rock 'n roll, and show-tune styles creating a tapestry of unique sounds for every listener. Some of my family's favorite songs from this album are: "Gelbart Dufrain," "I Love Apples," "Seatbelt Buckled," and "Howdy, Hello."
