Edy's Slow Churned Shakes & Smoothies Review + Giveaway

Mmmm...smoothies.  And milkshakes.  Is there really anything better on a super hot summer day?  Since we've been having a lot of hot summer days lately, I've been in search of ways to cool down.  Enter: Edy's Slow Churned Shakes and Smoothies!

A true summer treat, these delightful new snacks are available in a variety of flavors. They are incredibly convenient for a busy mama like myself...just add milk, stir, and you're good to go. It seems that whenever I make a smoothie by hand, it takes me forever to get around to washing the blender! Edy's has made my life simpler with these almost ready-to-go snacks. Plus they contain half the fat and one-third fewer calories than traditional shakes - so I can enjoy these without feeling guilty!

My hubby and I recently had the chance to try several of these shakes and smoothies. We sampled the Strawberry Banana and Mixed Berry Smoothies and Chocolate and Cookies n' Cream Shakes. The first thing that I noticed when I opened the smoothies is the neat swirl of the contents.  I think that kids would definitely find this fun!

The directions say to add 1/3 cup of milk and stir. This creates a smooth and silky consistency. And they taste fantastic.   It really is just like making a homeade smoothie - but without all the work of getting out ingredients, mixing up the contents...mixing them again when the consistency is wrong...  Just add milk and stir - that's my kind of project.

And in case you're in a real hurry - my hubby actually didn't read the directions the first time he tried one and ate a smoothie without the milk.  He said it was still really good!

The Smoothies come in the varieties of Strawberry Banana, Mixed Berry, Sunrise Blend and Tropical. The flavors of the Shakes are Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry and Cookies n' Cream.

As you can see, the little guy was pretty determined to get a bite.  Unfortunately for him, he didn't succeed.  But he came pretty close.  :)

Overall - we loved these smoothies and shakes!  I'll keep you posted if I see a great deal so that you can try them out, too!  Or - keep reading and find out how you can win a sample for yourself!
